I loved the Ciabatta bread there. Cosy place but a bit crowded. Espresso and Cappuccino are a hit. You get to choose from a wide range of cake as well. Worth visiting!

Very tasty breakfast and very, very poor service. Cheese breakfasts, gluten-free rolls, freshly squeezed juice, coffee and tea are always great. The prices, selection and atmosphere are right. But the service was unfortunately repeatedly so incredibly bad that we hesitate to come back. When we visited yesterday, we were not welcomed, parts of our order were swapped and forgotten, our polite request to fill up the bread again was only received rudely and reluctantly, and the bill did not come even after two orders, so we then paid at the counter. It can always happen that you wait longer because there is a lot going on, or that something is forgotten. But then the staff should at least be polite. What a shame, because otherwise we really like your café. Please train your staff better, or better pay them - whatever it takes to improve the experience.

We went here for the gluten free breakfast and we weren't disappointed. There was a good selection of breakfasts, and you could order gluten-free rolls for each one. Our daughter was delighted. The staff was very courteous and friendly. We would love to come back.

Knuth has been an institution for good taste when it comes to coffee, wines and cakes for years. The staff is also very friendly and we hardly seem to change. People like to come here for a good wine or enjoy the barista qualities of the chef.

You can sit comfortably in the shop, but unfortunately it is very cramped even during Corona times. I had to wait half an hour for my breakfast, no idea why a plate of cold cuts and hot rolls take so long. The cold cuts plate was overgrown with lettuce leaves, otherwise neither vegetables nor fruit. There are definitely better breakfast locations. Staff was polite.

Very nice pub. Very good coffee! There are a few very nice places outside, from which you can experience the hustle and bustle in the lively district.

Food was delicious and fresh, no run-of-the-mill menu, price-performance ratio was right, only the waiting times could have been a bit shorter

After waiting a little longer for the order, the food tasted very good and the quality of the ingredients was good. Unfortunately the coffee was on the small side.

Spinach lasagne came without spinach, but with aubergine and zucchini, totally overcooked and whole lettuce leaves squeezed onto the plate, without dressing. Spaghetti Arabiata was cold on the outside, hot on the inside and the pasta was rock hard on the outside. We left the full plates. No request from the waitress why. Both around 12 euros, full rip-off and disgusting. We struggled with nausea for half the day. Coffee and homemade soda are delicious.

Bad service: long waiting time, scheduled service staff which did not compensate for the long waiting time in the kitchen in a friendly way ... orders were forgotten again and again ... and waiting forever to be served. The food was mediocre and quite expensive. In addition, it was not possible to pay with an EC card ... which I find a real cheek in 2020. Card payment should be included, especially with these high prices.

The place was okay, only for me personally the music was too loud and too "groovy" Bach's 1st Cello Suite quietly in the background I would have preferred :)

Unfortunately the service was disastrous. First we had to ask after 20 minutes whether we could actually order something. Then we had to wait another 40 minutes for breakfast, which wasn't outstanding. The baked goods were definitely not fresh and the cold cuts / spreads were not refrigerated and already run. There is one star for the beautifully arranged breakfast and the gluten-free rolls.

We used to be very happy and often at Knuth. Now we wanted to have breakfast there again and were disappointed to find that they cut breakfast in half - by that I don't mean on the menu, but on the plate. For a vegan breakfast consisting of a small roll, a slice of cold cuts, a mini-dollop of spicy paste, a tiny piece of deep-fried (cold) tofu and some strawberry jam, you will get € 9 here. The cheese breakfast was also disappointing: 3 slices of sweaty cheese and a tiny bun. In the past you could really feast here, today they put the guests on a diet - at the same price. The waitress's snappy comment is free, however. After realizing that the service completely forgot about us, she complains that we don't tip her more. I like to pay for great service - also significantly more than usual. But compulsory attendance does not make good service. What a shame...

Never Ever

Waited for a long time for the coffee (40 min), then we got a bread basket for 4 people with the statement: "You have to fight for bread", that would still be ok, but it wasn't all multigrain rolls as ordered. And cheese was old, completely sweaty. Never again.

I was here with a colleague for a "work breakfast". We sat outside despite light rain, it was dry under the awning. The coffee and breakfast were delicious and the service friendly. If I lived in the corner, I would be here more often.

Great place for brunch on the weekend. Often very busy but the wait is worth it.

Nice bar to drink a coffee during the afternoon and maybe eat a slice of cake while working/studying on your laptop

We ordered breakfast for two and were really disapponted...My recommendation: don't try the Quark with Musli and Fruits...

We tried four different cakes that ranged from almost very good to terrible (a seriously-burnt vegan cheesecake). It’s a fun place with outdoor seats in a good location, but I think I’d explore other restaurants in the neighborhood before I’d go back.

Cosy, good table service and delicious breakfast and lunch, Knuth is now an Ottensen institution. Weekends are packed and reservations can not be made - so be prepared to wait. Fully licensed bar with a great vibe at night too. Perfect for a few drinks with friends before heading out on the town.

The environment was really nice and the people around were friendly. The staff was nice and polite and would serve you in a really good way. Not to forget the good taste of the coffee. Recommended!!

Great bar/ cafe/ bistro with great food and great service! It can get quite crowded on the weekends but it doesn't take long for staff to arrange a table for you as you wait. They serve warm Franz Brötchen here - so good!!

Still.one of my favourite cafes in Hamburg. Great food.
